Years
planning & printing mail campaigns
A message people can actually hold onto.
Inboxes get filtered. Mailboxes get opened. Done well, direct mail still earns attention that digital-only campaigns often can't — and it pairs with your digital efforts instead of competing with them.It gets seen
A physical piece has to be picked up, sorted and — usually — at least glanced at. That's a moment digital ads don't guarantee.
It builds trust
Sending something tangible signals effort and investment in a way that shows you're a real business worth a second look.
It works with digital
Paired with online touchpoints, mail can extend your reach across the platforms your audience already spends time on.
It's repeatable
Most successful campaigns aren't a single drop — they're a handful of touches spaced a few weeks apart. We help you plan for that from the start.
Six formats. Every one has a job it's best at.
Not sure which format fits your project? Here's the quick honest take on each — what it's great for, and where it falls short.
01 - Postcards
A single sheet, no envelope, message visible the moment it hits the mailbox. Fast to design and print, and the most budget-friendly format on this list.
Good for:
- Sales & promos
- Event reminders
- Quick-turn campaigns
Keep in mind:
- Limited space
- Can get lost in a full mailbox
02 - Letters & Enveloped Mail
Anything from a single letter to a full packet of inserts, sealed for privacy. Feels personal and gives you room for a real, detailed message.
Good for:
- Personalized offers
- Multi-page content
- Sensitive info
Keep in mind:
- Higher cost per piece
- More prep time
03 - Self-Mailers
Brochures, flyers and newsletters that fold and seal on their own — no envelope needed. Full surface area for design, with a simpler production process.
Good for:
- Newsletters
- Bold, visual offers
- Mass mailings
Keep in mind:
- Less privacy
- More exposed in transit
04 - Product Catalogs
A booklet-style showcase of your full line or a curated selection — descriptions, pricing and images included. Built for businesses with a lot to show.
Good for:
- Wide product lines
- Brand storytelling
- Repeat customers
Keep in mind:
- Higher production cost
- Updates require a reprint
05 - Dimensional Mailers
Mail with physical depth — pop-ups, small boxes, kits. Built to be picked up, opened and remembered rather than skimmed and tossed.
Good for:
- Product launches
- VIP & ABM outreach
Keep in mind:
- Highest cost format
- Longer production timeline
06 - Polybagged Collections
A bundle of flyers, brochures and small items wrapped together in protective, clear packaging — one mailing, several pieces of content.
Good for:
- Multi-offer campaigns
- Sample inclusion
Keep in mind:
- Extra assembly step
- Can read as bulk mail
Choosing a format is half the plan. Choosing who receives it is the other half.
Every mailer above can be sent through more than one route — and the route you pick has just as much impact on results as the piece itself.
Every Door Direct Mail
Blankets every address on chosen postal routes — no mailing list required. Built for local, broad-reach awareness at a lower cost.
Best for: local businesses building neighborhood awareness
Targeted Mailing
Reaches specific people based on demographics or behavior, using a purchased or house list. More precision, more relevance, more room for personalization.
Best for: product launches, defined audiences, higher-touch offers
Addressed Saturation
Sends to every address on a route like EDDM, but with an addressed mail list behind it — opening the door to future list-building and follow-up.
Best for: broad local reach with an eye toward future targeted campaigns

Direct Mail FAQ
Do I need my own mailing list to get started?
Not necessarily. If you're going the Every Door Direct Mail route, no list is required at all — we mail to every address on the routes you select. If you'd like to target specific people, we can help source a list or clean up one you already have.
Which format should I choose if I'm not sure?
It depends on your goal, timeline and how much you need to say. A quick promo usually points to a postcard; a detailed or personalized offer often calls for an envelope; a big product line points toward a catalog. Tell us the goal and we'll help you land on a format.
How many mailings should I plan for?
We generally recommend three to four mailings spaced roughly three to four weeks apart — direct mail tends to perform better with repetition. That said, we're glad to handle a single mailing if that's all you need right now.
Can direct mail work alongside our digital marketing?
Yes — that's exactly what our SynergyMail program is built for. It layers digital touchpoints like social ads and geotargeting on top of your mail campaign so the same audience sees your message in more than one place.
Is Integra a good fit if we already have a mail list or in-house mail expertise?
Often, yes — we can step in for the pieces that make sense, whether that's just printing or handling the full campaign. We'll have an honest conversation about where our involvement adds the most value for your situation.
How long does a project take from order to delivery?
It depends — mainly on the mail class your piece moves at. First-class typically runs about 8–12 working days, while nonprofit and presort standard usually land around 12–15 working days. Both estimates include production time and mail transit, not just printing. This can sometimes be expedited if you are willing to incur rush charges.
