BINDING OPTIONS
Short Run or Long Run — Same Team, Right Press
Whether you're testing a new catalog with a small print run or mailing a magazine to a full subscriber list, the press we put your job on changes. What doesn't change is who you work with.
Digital Printing
Ideal for launch issues, sales samples, limited editions, or catalogs that update often. Digital presses make low quantities affordable and let you print exactly what you need.
- No costly plates — cost-effective even at low quantities
- Faster to production since there's less setup
- Easy to update content between print cycles
Offset Printing
Built for subscriber magazines, seasonal catalogs, and mass distribution. Offset becomes more cost-effective as quantity climbs, with color consistency across every copy.
- Lower per-unit cost at volume
- Tightest color matching across a full print run
- Pairs naturally with mailing and co-mail services
Built to Handle the Whole Project
Paper, binding, distribution, and a digital version of the finished piece — we treat your catalog or magazine as one project, not four separate vendors.
Paper That Matches the Job
Text and cover weights, coated or uncoated — matched to how your piece is read, mailed, and handled.
Binding for How It's Used
Saddle stitch, perfect bind, or Wire-O — we help you choose based on page count and how long it needs to last.
Distribution, Handled
Full mailing services, co-mail pooling, or box-and-ship to your team — we get finished pieces where they need to go.
A Digital Version, Too
Every printed catalog or magazine can become an interactive flipbook for your website — at no extra production step.
Paper & Binding Options
These are the building blocks of every catalog and magazine project. Your Integra rep will help you land on the right combination for your budget and how the piece will be used.
Paper Options
Cover stock protects and sells the piece; text stock is what your reader spends the most time with.
Gloss Cover & Text
Sharp, vibrant color reproduction — the standard choice for photo-heavy catalogs and lifestyle magazines.
Silk / Semi-Gloss
A softer sheen that cuts glare while still holding color well. A popular middle ground for trade publications.
Uncoated
Natural, tactile feel with less shine. Common for text-forward magazines, literary publications, and pieces meant to feel less "advertising."
Weight Range (Thickness of Paper)
Text stock typically runs 70# to 100#; cover stock runs 80# to 130#, depending on how sturdy the piece needs to be.
Binding Options
Page count and how the piece gets handled usually decide the binding, more than personal preference.
Saddle Stitch
Stapled through the spine. The most economical option and works well for pieces up to around 60–80 pages. Can mail without an envelope.
Perfect Bind
A flat, printable spine like a paperback book. Suited to thicker catalogs and magazines, generally 32+ pages.
Wire-O / Spiral
Lays fully flat and holds up to repeated use — a strong fit for reference catalogs, manuals-in-magazine-form, or anything used at a desk.
Self-Cover vs. Plus-Cover
Self-cover uses the same stock throughout; plus-cover adds a heavier, distinct cover for extra shelf presence.
Distribution Options
Printing is only half the job. Here's how finished catalogs and magazines actually get to your readers.
Full Mailing Services
We address, presort, and mail your run directly to a subscriber or prospect list — first-class or standard mail, with USPS compliance handled for you.
Best for standalone subscriber mailings of any size
Co-Mail Services
Your title is bundled into a mailstream with other publications, qualifying more of your mail for deeper carrier-route postal discounts.
Best fit for recurring, higher-circulation magazines — ask if your run qualifies
Box & Ship
We box and ship your run in bulk — to your office, a trade show, a sales team, or multiple retail or branch locations. No individual addressing required.
Best for trade shows, sales kits, and internal distribution
Turn Any Printed Piece Into a Digital Flipbook
Every catalog or magazine we print can also be delivered as an interactive online flipbook — something you can embed right on your website so visitors can page through it digitally, no download required. It's a simple add-on to your existing project, not a separate production process.

Common Questions
What's the difference between a catalog and a magazine, printing-wise?
Not much on press. Both are typically saddle-stitched or perfect-bound multi-page pieces on similar paper stocks. The real differences are in content and distribution — catalogs are usually product-driven and mailed to prospects or customers, while magazines lean editorial and often go to subscribers. We print and bind both the same way.
Is there a minimum quantity?
No firm minimum — digital printing makes short runs of a few hundred copies practical. If you're not sure what quantity makes sense for your budget and goals, that's a good first conversation to have with your rep.
How long does production take?
It depends on quantity, page count, and binding, but as a general rule, shorter runs move through production faster than longer ones. We'll give you a firm production and delivery timeline once we know your specs — ask your rep if you're working against a deadline.
Do I need to use one of your mailing options, or can I distribute it myself?
Totally up to you. Plenty of clients have us box and ship to their office and handle distribution in-house. Mailing services and co-mail are there when you want us to take that off your plate.
How do I know if co-mail is a good fit for my magazine?
Co-mail works best for recurring titles at higher circulation, since it depends on pooling your mailing with other publications on a similar schedule and trim size. It's less of a fit for a one-off catalog or a small subscriber list. Ask your rep to look at your circulation and mailing frequency — we'll tell you honestly whether it would save you money.
Can you add a digital flipbook to a project I've already printed with someone else?
